I was so excited about this book coming out as I adore the Twilight series and it was released on my birthday too! I love a vampire story, it started as a teenager when I read Bram Stokers Dracula and that was it I had found my favourite genre of book, fantasy!
So, Midnight Sun … it’s been a long time coming and for anybody who has lived under a rock for the last 15 years it’s the Twilight story told from the vampire Edward’s perspective.
It’s a massive book (obviously) as Edward is very wordy and full of even more angst than we thought. I liked that we learnt more about the Cullens and also being able to hear the thoughts of everyone around and I appreciated the darker edge to the story.
It was always a given that I would buy this book and it would have a new home on my bookshelf sitting next to the other Twilight books (which I return to often) but and it pains me to say it I wasn’t blown away by it and probably won’t re-read it.
I’m still holding out for an Alice & Jasper book!
